If you answered yes to any of these questions, this book is for you!

Going the Distance is the first in a three book series. The techniques and philosophies are refined out of the best available science and three decades of hands on learning I’ve done as an athlete, competitor, and coach. I have written Going the Distance to educate, encourage and promote the essential strategies one needs for developing optimal lifelong fitness and performance.

It is my aim to present the most important and foundational ideas and techniques for athletic longevity, peak performance and injury prevention. I believe the information and techniques outlined in the book are beneficial and relevant for all athletes, across all sports, at every ability level. The plan that I present in the book can serve as a blueprint for developing and fortifying an approach to exercising, training and racing that is safe, sustainable, and supported by contemporary scientific research. Executing the plan outlined in this book will help the fitness enthusiast bypass pitfalls that are common in many well-intentioned training routines.

The techniques presented in this book are foundational and they are as useful to the elite athlete as they are to the novice. If your goal is to play the sports and participate in the fitness activities you love for as long as you can with fewer orthopedic interruptions, the techniques and philosophies outlined in Going the Distance are crucial for your journey.
